I know I haven’t been writing much lately and I owe you several posts, but until such time here’s a fascinating article about the new Iraqi Constitution. Apparently our desire to give the Iraqi’s liberty has led us to deny the notion of private property and to declare “Public property is sacrosanct and its protection is the duty of every citizen.” I know this would require a much longer piece, but I would have to ask them where they think the rights of man (Free speech, religion, etc.) come from if not from the notion of man as a self-governing entity and his fundamental right to own property.
