A New Map of France

I?m sure most of you have already heard about this, but PETA is up in arms about the military usage of animals for mine sweeping, detecting chemical and biological weapons, capturing submerged terrorists, etc. They claim that the animals are being drafted, without their consent, to fight in a war, we must assume, that they do not support. This is a travesty. I have changed my position, I am now completely against this war. Moreover, even more horrible than this forced military force, the collateral damage against innocent camels must stop!

He?s been a little quiet as of late, but our favorite bad guy, Dominique de Villepin, French Ambassador to the UN, is back with a new stream of villainous idiocy. Documented in an article from the AFP, he let loose with the following comments while speaking in front of the Institute for Strategic Studies:

?The UN must steer the process. More importantly, the UN must be at the heart of the reconstruction and administration of Iraq. . . The legitimacy of our action depends on it?

Sorry, my wine guzzling, pompadour hair cut moron, the French haven?t had any legitimacy since the Maginot Line. ?Oui, Oui, Oui the brave Belgians will protect us from the German horde.? Moreover, the U.N. has never had any legitimacy and certainly can have none without the United States.

The story goes on to say:

The French minister re-stated French objections to the war, however, saying “our choices were not made against one country or another but in the name of a certain kind of collective responsibility and of a world vision.”

Well, all I can say is, your Lenin imitation needs a lot of work.

Looks like we in Oklahoma might start treating marijuana with only a modicum of insanity. A bill in the house to treat possession of a ounce or less of pot as a misdemeanor punishable by a fine, has been allowed out of committee and is headed to the full house. The following appeared in today?s Daily Oklahoman:

Lawmakers’ plans to decriminalize marijuana possession may not be up in smoke yet.

Members of the House Criminal Justice Committee voted Tuesday to move forward a Senate bill that could make possessing an ounce or less of the drug a misdemeanor punishable by a fine.

Original Senate language proposing the change was removed before the House saw the bill this week.

Rep. Bill Nations, D-Norman, told committee members he would be working to restore that language to the bill when it comes to the House floor later in the session.

Nations told committee members the bill’s effect would be to have police officers treat marijuana possession the same as they might a traffic ticket.

He said an agreement mirroring the law change already exists between Norman law enforcement officials and the Cleveland County district attorney’s office as a way to reduce court congestion.

“And there is support for this sort of movement on this issue from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies,” Nations said.

Sen. Bernest Cain, D-Oklahoma City, authored the bill. It goes next for consideration by the full House.

Ah, the dam gates are open, and all the water is money, if you happened to be a failed business. Once again, the government ponders a bailout of the airline industry, this time to the tune three billion dollars. They claim that the airline industry is so necessary (even though people seem to be making due without it) that the country cannot survive if even one airline goes under. Therefore, to rectify that, they?ll steal money at gunpoint from those who actually have it for productive use and throw it at a bloated industry that cannot keep a float without grand larceny. It reminds me of that quote from Animal Farm. ?All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.? Well, now its, ?All businesses are equal, but some businesses have friends in the government with guns.?
